Driving around my hometown has become an emotional minefield.

People walking, sitting, talking, living life.

Brushing their teeth at the water spigot on the side of the check cashing place.

The homeless no longer have a particular look. They are no longer bums—and I question whether they were ever just bums. They look like so many of us who have a traditional home to return to.
